MSSC President
Jany K. Moussa, MD is a board-certified nephrologist in Wichita, KS, and serves as President of Wichita Nephrology Group as well as the Internal Medicine Director for the Via Christi Family Medicine Residency program. A 1990 graduate of Aleppo University School of Medicine, he completed his internship at Loma Linda University and later specialized with a residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Nephrology at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 2002. Beyond his extensive professional roles, Dr. Moussa enjoys playing tennis, supporting Wichita State University basketball, and spending quality time with his wife, Yvonne, and their two daughters—Reema, a second-year medical student at OU, and Nicole, a second-year pre-med student at Tulsa.
MSSC Executive Director
Phillip Brownlee became the MSSC executive director in May 2017. He worked for 21 years at The Wichita Eagle, including 16 years as editorial page editor. During his tenure at The Eagle, Phillip and the editorial board won numerous journalism awards, including the Kansas Public Health Association service award. Phillip also worked previously as a certified public accountant in Dallas and as public information director. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration from Sterling College and a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Kansas.
